TECHNOLOGY IS THE NEW RELIGION
Sci-Fi / Post-Apocalyptic
Desperate to save her father, a reluctant farm girl captures a mysterious stranger who may hold the cure, but discovers that she herself may be humanity's last hope.
What is it?
On ZEALOTS, a fractured family, hunted fugitives, and reluctant survivors are forced together in a quarantined, post-apocalyptic South Africa, where a brutal occupying regime and their bio-mechanical monsters rule through fear.
At its heart, the series follows Jade Brown, a young woman with no desire to be a leader, who must transform from a quiet farm girl into the strategist of a rebellion when the occupiers destroy her home. Alongside her estranged sister Siyanda, the haunted mercenary Rush Berger, the feral telekinetic Lily, and Lily’s infamous mother, “The Wild Woman,” Jade becomes part of a makeshift resistance struggling to outwit the regime and survive the evolving horrors of the mZ virus.
It’s a survival epic about connection in a world built on disconnection-where every alliance carries risk, every victory demands sacrifice, and hope itself becomes the most dangerous weapon. As monsters mutate, loyalties fracture, and betrayals cut deep, ZEALOTS asks whether people can hold onto their humanity when the world around them is determined to strip it away.

A POST-APARTHEID TEEN HORROR
Introduction
-

Pilot
The pilot follows a group of kids of colour as they navigate the dangers of a newly “integrated” white suburb in the Vaal Triangle. In 1995, a bell-shaped anomaly over a high school and a bathroom panic, blamed on “Pinky Pinky”, seeded a decades-long haunting. Four misfit teens stumble onto the truth: the “monster” is tied to a missing girl, the town’s rituals made while a new, visceral phenomenon, the Bellmouth, begins infecting people who carry what the town refuses to say.
-

Mid-Season
Years later, the estranged friends reunite at a school gathering, witness their first Bellmouth, and, pushed by Brandon, rattled by Orin’s night terrors, are dragged back to Grasmere to face the past. Across the season, folklore, initiation rites, and white supremacy collide as the group uncovers how authority weaponises legend to police girls, silence witnesses, and bury testimony. The engine blends monster-of-the-week with serialised revelation, each episode peeling back a layer of the town’s ritual machinery and the personal costs of speaking out.

Show Engine
The relationships between the kids, their loyalty, jealousy, crushes, betrayals, and forgiveness are the show’s primary engine. The engine is their fragile but powerful friendships, tested each episode by inner conflicts with discrimination, religion, drugs, abuse, and the supernatural “villains” that embody their fears.

Grasmere is a supernatural horror series that follows four childhood friends as they encounter a mysterious creature known as Pinky-Pinky during their last adventure in the hills of Lawley. Ten years later, the protagonist, Brandon, discovers a viral video featuring schoolgirls being interviewed about their encounter with Pinky-Pinky, which inspires him to reunite the gang.
However, upon their return to town, they discover that the urban myth of Pinky-Pinky has grown into something much more sinister, involving cult rituals and a town harbouring a dark secret. The group's faith, friendship, and bravery are put to the test as they fight against the forces of evil in an epic final act.

The townsfolk are harbouring a secret about the urban myth, and some may be involved in cult rituals. Father Michael is a close friend and the only person they can trust, but he is also a changed man, bordering on manic, a stark contrast to the strong man we have come to know. During this time, we go back and forth between the past and the present as both storylines intertwine and come to a head in an epic final act that involves a tale about faith, friendship, good/evil, night terrors, monsters, and the occult.
